Over his 40 years in the insurance and banking industry Jon has worked directly with successful individuals and families and with major corporate clients. He has served as an insurance and investment advisor, a trust division head—responsible for more than $15 billion in assets under management, and more than $50 billion in client benefits under administration—and, as Life division head for a top 50 U.S. insurance company.
In addition to leading ButcherJoseph Asset Management, Jon serves on the board of directors of FCTG, Inc., one of the largest forest products trading firms in the U.S., with over $2.5 billion in sales.
Dennis McDonald, CFA
Chief Investment Officer
Dennis spent 10 years with TIAA-CREF, most recently as Managing Director, Investment Strategy and Product Development. In this role, he designed, successfully launched, and managed an outcome-oriented investment advisory platform that grew from zero to over $15 billion in assets under management.
Prior to joining TIAA-CREF, Dennis held senior investment research and product development roles serving the needs of high-net-worth and institutional clients at UBS Financial Services and Banc of America Montgomery Securities.
Chief Investment Strategist
Ms. Tengler is the Chief Investment Strategist for both Tengler Wealth Management and ButcherJoseph Asset Management, LLC. As a senior member of our investment team, she also has a lead role on the ButcherJoseph Asset Management Investment Committee. In these roles Nancy is responsible for active equity management research and portfolio management as well as leading our wealth management services.
Nancy is also a committed advocate of financial literacy as the founder and CEO of Financial IQ Training Services, which encourages women to take charge of their own financial planning. She has also authored a book, “The Women’s Guide to Successful Investing,” as well as publishing several investment columns for women.
Prior to joining ButcherJoseph Asset Management to launch Tengler Wealth Management, Ms. Tengler had a distinguished investment management career in several senior leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Chief Investment Officer at Heartland Financial where she was also a Director of Arizona Bank & Trust. Nancy has also served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Fremont Investment Advisors in San Francisco. Prior to that she was President and Chief Investment Officer of Global Alliance Value Investors where she was the Senior Member of the Value Tech and Value 30 investment strategies. She also worked for UBS Asset Management as Head of the Value Equities Group and with Spare, Tengler, Kaplan and Bischel, Ltd. as President and Portfolio Manager.
Ms. Tengler has been an Adjunct Professor at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA and is a Member of the MFA Advisory Board of the college. She also serves on the Board of BioAccel in Phoenix, AZ. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Point Loma College and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from St. Mary’s College from 2007 to 2009.
Managing Principal - Institutional and Wealth Advisory
Kenny Polcari is a Managing Principal at Tengler Wealth Management responsible for client engagement and market commentary. Leveraging his extensive trading and equity markets background, Kenny is also a member of the ButcherJoseph Asset Management, LLC Investment Committee. Kenny works with Tengler Wealth clients directly as well as appearing in the financial media and publishing a regular market commentary newsletter.
Kenny came to Wall Street as a summer intern on the New York Stock Exchange during the summers of ’80, ’81 & ’82 and upon graduation moved from Boston, Mass. to New York City where he began his career on the trading floor. He became a member of the New York Stock Exchange in August, 1985 and prior to joining the ButcherJoseph Asset Management Team to help launch Tengler Wealth Management was a Managing Director at O’Neil Securities, Inc., representing the interests of institutional asset managers that need to access global equity markets. Earlier in his career, Kenny served as managing director at Icap Corps, LLC, and prior to that was senior vice president, member New York Stock Exchange and division manager with Salomon Brothers directing their NYSE Division during the heady bull market of the 1990’s.
His 30 plus years of experience have taken him from the birth of the greatest bull market, to the crash of ’87, the roaring ’90’s, the .com implosion, decimalization, 9/11, Regulation NMS, the merger between the NYSE / ARCA, then NYSE/Euronext, automation, HFT, and fragmentation. He is an engaging public speaker and you can find him speaking at industry & investor conferences, as well as colleges, forums and major asset manager events. He is at ease speaking about NYSE history, rules & regulation, former & current market structure including internalization, HFT and fragmentation and how those changes have forever changed the face of the U.S. capital markets and what that means to the investor. He writes a daily “Morning Thoughts” missive that is an informative, engaging and entertaining look at global markets and provides insight into the day’s action. It has gained wide popularity and has become a signature of his “boots on the ground” analytical style. He is a member of STA and NOIP and is a guest lecturer for The American College. He holds the series 7, 24, 27, 55, 63 registrations.

Insana was named one of the “Top 100 Business News Journalists of the 20th Century” and was nominated for a news and documentary Emmy for his role in NBC’s coverage of 9/11.
He has authored four books on Wall Street and is a highly regarded lecturer on domestic and global economics, financial markets and economic policy issues. Insana graduated with honors from California State University at Northridge.
